Alchemilla form a group of drought tolerant clump forming, ground cover perennials.

The flowers appear from early summer for long periods.


   

Varieties: -

Alchemilla. alpina

 

Form: Mound forming perennials
Height: 6in (15cm)
Spread: 24in (60cm) or more
Foliage: Rounded, lobed, pale-green leaves covered with silky hairs
Flowers: During summer bears upright spikes of tiny greenish-yellow flowers, with conspicuous outer calyces.

Suitable ground cover for a dry bank.

Form: Clump forming perennials
Height: 12in (30cm) 
Spread: 12in (30cm)
Foliage: Produces wavy, star-shaped leaves with pale margins.
Flowers: During mid-summer it produces loose clusters of tiny greenish-yellow flowers, with conspicuous outer calyces.

Grows in all but boggy soils, preferring full sun or partial shade. Ideally suited to dry banks where little else will survive.
