A genus of spring, summer, and autumn flowering perennials; Some tuberous or rhizomatous, and with mainly rounded cup-shaped flowers. Leaves are generally rounded, to oval, and usually divided into 3-15 leaflets.

Most anemones thrive in well-drained, but moisture retentive, humus rich soil in full sun or partial shade.  

Sap may irritate the skin.
