Arabis is a genus of small, robust, semi-evergreen or evergreen, mat-forming perennials, providing excellent ground-cover at the front of the border, in rock-gardens, or even on dry walling. They need a well drained site and full sun, are drought tolerant, and survive where many other plants would not.

Cultivation: -

Grow Rock Cress in any well-drained soil in full sun. It is tolerant of poor, dry, and infertile soils. protect Arabis. blepharophylla from winter wet. Vigorous species such as Arabis. alpina can swamp other plants if left to their own devices.

Trim plants following flowering to maintain a neat compact habit. 

 

Propagation: -

Sow seeds in the cold frame during autumn, and allow the seedlings the protection of the frame over winter. Alternatively take softwood cuttings during during the summer.
