Narey's Garden Centre

Narey's Garden Centre is a family business located on the A.14 just outside Stowmarket, with a more than ample car park, which is seldom challenged in providing you with a parking space. (Excepting Bank Holidays, when occasionally parking overflows onto the lane that leads only to Narey's)

In true Garden Centre tradition Narey's stock almost everything one could possibly need for the garden, from all the materials required to produce hard landscaping, through pergola and fencing materials, and onto the seating you will need for relaxation after installing all this kit in the garden. The only thing they do not lay on are the refreshments

Narey's stock a better than average, if not comprehensive, range of trees, shrubs and climbers in their expansive purpose designed display area at the rear of the site; Leading to this area takes one through a modest display of herbaceous perennials, where Narey's always aim to buy in something that little bit unusual, whether it be a particularly spectacular cultivar of a common garden plant or a species that stands alone by its own merits. All of the plants that Narey's buy in come from well respected quality nurseries.

To take the heartache out of raising temporary bedding plants from seed Narey's both grow their own plants from seed and buy in the ever increasingly popular plug modules, ensuring the success of your bedding schemes.

It would be very remiss of me to be giving a guide to Narey's Garden Centre, and fail to point out that they also carry a range of conservatory and indoor plants too, from large impressive specimens, right down to the more modest plants we all grow on our window sills.

Inside the main building is where you will find everything you will need to beat the bugs and weeds, or feed your plants, and whether you are looking for organic or chemical means of pest control, or boosting the nutrients your plants need, Narey's appear to have every possibility covered.

Additionally; Narey's carry a large variety of bulbs, corms and tubers, the type offered depending upon the time of year, and often towards the end of the planting season for each flavour of bulb there are bargains to be had.

As I stated at the beginning of my write up on Narey's, they follow the true Garden Centre tradition of trying to meet the needs of all customers, making their business the one stop port of call for all Gardener's. My own experience of buying from Narey's is that they endeavour to achieve their aims by rotating the plants they buy in to provide an ever changing choice for their customers, and whilst they can never stock everything or carry full ranges of plants, there is always something at Narey's that begs you to take it home with you.

My final comment is that I have never purchased any plant from Narey's that came with an unwanted guest, unlike many other Nurseries and Garden Centres I have visited. It is an indication of how a Nursery or Garden Centre cares for its plants that you take home plants free from pests like Vine Weevils, which are already chewing their way through the roots of your purchase.
